Commander Tarx was attached to the Tenth Sontaran Battle Fleet's Special Assault Squad. The explosion of the flagship, caused by Luke Rattigan, caused a shockwave which struck Tarx's spacepod when Tarx was heading to the northern hemisphere, ripping it apart and killing him.
