Patrick hoped that Jorjie was a "super soldier with a couple of bazookas", but Starkey replied she wasn't but "she is fairly tough, for a 14 year old girl". This disappointed the Postman, who ascertained they're both "toast". He gave his name to Starkey who compared it to "Postman Pat" while Patrick persisted his name was "Pat-rick". Starkey managed to get his Dog whistle with his mouth and called for K9. This only managed to gain the attention of the Centuripede.

As Starkey whistled again, he and Patrick were let free of the encasement and fell to the ground to see a pile of alien eggs. As the creature moved towards them, Starkey continued to whistle as K9 raced to find him. K9, Jorjie and Darius managed to find Starkey. As K9 prepared to neutralise the creature, Starkey showed him the eggs and that the creature was a mother. The creature didn't want to attack or eat anyone, but was just trying to protect her babies. She had to build a pod to transport her eggs, or as K9 and Darius put it an "interstellar baby carriage" or "a spaceship made out of wood and centipede spit" respectively. But she doesn't need just any wood, she needs oak wood. Inspector Drake put a gas bomb set to detonate in four minutes. K9 and Starkey stayed to help the aliens while Darius and Patrick ran, Patrick had to carry Jorjie as she didn't want to leave the creatures.

As they climbed up the ladder, Darius was the last to climb up and rummaged through Patrick's postbag to find Gryffen's invitation, Darius hopes he could get a reward for it. As Jorjie, Darius and Patrick got out of the sewer, they saw no sign of Starkey or K9. The countdown reached zero and the bomb exploded, Darius says there is no chance they could have survived. They then spot the mother and her hatched babies flying up into their pod. Darius and Jorjie feel grief as they believe Starkey and K9 to be dead, but Starkey (who is with K9 behind the others) notes how beautiful it was. The others are relieved to see that he and K9 alright, the creatures gave Starkey and K9 a lift. Darius then went to K9 and showed Gryffen (on the monitor) his invitation, Darius asked to discuss his finder's fee. Patrick then protested that Darius can't charge people for their mail, but Darius then snatched the envelope and ran away while Starkey and Jorjie laughed. (K9TV: The Last Oak Tree)

Patrick was a postman who worked around the year 2050.

Patrick was sent to deliver Professor Alistair Gryffen's invitation for the Annual Bournedecker Awards for Scientific Excellence. He was captured by a Centuripede and imprisoned in its hatchery in the sewers. Starkey was also kidnapped and trapped in the alien substance next to Patrick. Starkey warned the alien what Jorjie would do when she found out what it had done to the Major Oak. Patrick hoped that Jorjie was a "super soldier with a couple of bazookas". Starkey said "she is fairly tough, for a fourteen year old girl". Patrick said they were both "toast". Starkey used his Dog whistle to try to call K9. This only gained the attention of the Centuripede.

K9, Jorjie and Darius found Starkey and Patrick. K9 and Starkey stayed to help the aliens while Darius and Patrick ran, Patrick had to carry Jorjie as she didn't want to leave the creatures.

As they climbed the ladder, Darius rummaged through Patrick's postbag to find Gryffen's invitation, hoping for a reward. After the centuripede and its young had flown away, Darius asked to discuss his finder's fee. Patrick protested that Darius could not charge people for their mail, but Darius snatched the envelope and ran away. (TV: The Last Oak Tree)
