Professor Pierre Vedrun was a French scientist and the father of Monique Vedrun. During World War II, German soldiers under SS Kapitan Ernst Wolfgang Spiegal forced him to develop a matter transporter for their war effort. In January 1942, Vedrun inadventently invented a prototype that would transport people through time as well as space. When Spiegal discovered this, he planned to use the device to acquire advanced weaponry which would assure a Nazi victory.
