Steve was a member of the Bathylab 3 crew. He served with Jeff Stone and Robin. Together they explored the ocean of an unnamed planet in search of mineral ores, but instead discovered a downed Dalesub. Together they worked on repairing the sub, and soon had it working again. They were almost immediately engaged in a battle against an approaching Dalek patrol, but easily defeated them. (COMIC: The Super Sub)
