:The new information you have just revealed makes the edit much simpler than I initially feared it would be. Namely, the Special Releases range is defunct/no longer marketed, and a new range called Classic Series - Special Releases, with a similar but distinct line-up, has been created from its ashes. So we can cover both simultaneously, as the similar-but-distinct entities that they are both in name and in content. --Scrooge MacDuck ☎ 19:53, October 12, 2020 (UTC) |

Subscriber Exclusivesedit source
I think we should reformulate the Subscriber Exclusives section by adding the Real Time and Shada audio storys to the list, rename it to the real name used in the Big Finish Website (Bonus Releases) and correct their numbers as well ( put 33 1/2, I, II, III, etc -- or 33 1/2, 1, 2, 3, etc.; instead of just 1, 2, 3, etc.). What do you think? Wesley701 ☎ 19:32, April 27, 2018 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks for the concern, but Bonus Releases already exists, and is in fact a "separate" range (despite both being standalone, "special" releases). But the good thing is that this made me realise that I never put an external link to the BF website. OncomingStorm12th ☎ 23:16, April 27, 2018 (UTC)
Potential reformulation of this pageedit source
So as we all know, in 2019, Big Finish reworked their website, reformulating the way this "range" is set out. On this wiki we currently have a Special Releases page and Bonus Releases page. Meanwhile, Big Finish have distributed may of the stories in these ranges between the Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Doctor Adventures. On top of this, they have retained the Special Releases format, albeit much changed from what it once was. Now it is divided into Classic Series[1], Big Finish[2] (Only The Worlds of Big Finish is relevant to us) and The Worlds of Doctor Who.[3]
How do we reflect this new organisation while preserving the ranges as they once were? Should we preserve what they were? The stories weren't originally devised as "Special Releases", that's just an arbitrary label for ease of organisation on the website. Perhaps we should just create pages of 5th-7th Doctor Adventures, move the stories labelled as such to those pages, and use Special Releases for the stories designated as such on the BF website. The status of the pageedit source
After the BF website redesign, several releases were moved from or to this range. I editted this page accordingly, even putting in the description of the range where the missing stories went.
But some people disagree with this new format of the page, putting some of those releases (not all) back here, including releases that were never a part of the Special Releases Range in the first place!
I think we should decide what to do with this page now. Keep it to date with the BF website (and if so, change its name to "Classic Series - Special Releases", the current branding in the BF website) or let it stay with stories no longer a part of it.
