Jane Vapid was a television presenter who presented Crime: It Can Pay. She was shot and killed by a stalker whilst leaving Great Ormond Street Hospital where she had been giving jelly babies to children with AIDS.

It was speculated that Vapid had been assassinated by a hitman before the truth was discovered, a truth that disappointed people including Polly Wright due to stalkers being commonplace. Polly attended her funeral and re-released "She Drives Me Crazy" as a tribute. (PROSE: That Time I Nearly Destroyed the World Whilst Looking for a Dress)
