Vislor Turlough's grandfather was a Trion pirate. He used alien technology to keep his loot hidden, using the Winter Palace built by his great-grandfather to run his smuggling operations.
During the Trion Civil War, Turlough's grandfather offered the Winter Palace as a refuge for the Trion Queen to protect her from the fighting. However, word of this reached Deela's father, who was a revolutionary. (AUDIO: Kiss of Death)
