In the 1890s, the railway was upgraded in the area around Reading. People working on the railway in the Weirdling Woods were attacked by the Blight, prompting the Paternoster Gang to investigate the forest. (PROSE: The Curious Case of the Weirdling Woods)

Cardiff Central station was part of the Great Western Railway. (TV: Ghost Machine)

First Great Western operated the trains circa 2009. Agnes Havisham travelled with them from Swindon to Cardiff. (PROSE: Risk Assessment)
