Filmed in Portmerion, Wales, but set in Italy, The Masque of Mandragora was the first story of Season 14; written by Louis Marks it featured Tom Baker as the Doctor and Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith in a confrontation with a living energy known as the Mandragora Helix.
