The destruction of Skaro. (TV: Remembrance of the Daleks)

The destruction of Skaro occurred during the Imperial-Renegade Dalek Civil War. After locating the Hand of Omega on Earth in 1963, the Seventh Doctor tricked the Imperial Dalek faction led by Davros into activating the Hand, intending to turn Skaro's sun into a source of power. (TV: Remembrance of the Daleks)

The Hand travelled to Skaro's time zone via a causal nexus in the transjovian space near Jupiter, using faster-than-light travel to punch a hole in reality (PROSE: Remembrance of the Daleks) and detonated the system's second sun, (PROSE: The Stranger) causing a stellar explosion that engulfed the planet, before returning to destroy the Imperial Dalek mothership. (TV: Remembrance of the Daleks)

It was unclear when the Daleks tried and executed the Master in relation to the destruction of Skaro, as the trial occurred on the planet and the Seventh Doctor collected the Master's ashes. (TV: Doctor Who) The Daleks later established New Skaro in the 26th century. (PROSE: Birthright)

The Dalek Prime later claimed that Skaro had not really been destroyed, having been switched with the decoy planet Antalin. (PROSE: War of the Daleks) Another accounts stated that following the civil war, the Emperor of the Restoration "restored" Skaro, (PROSE: The Restoration Empire) or the Daleks manipulated the timelines, making it so while the planet was destroyed, they reconstituted it, effectively erasing the destruction from time. (PROSE: The Whoniverse) The Eleventh Doctor later visited a ravaged and desolate Skaro (TV: Asylum of the Daleks) and the Twelfth Doctor was later captured and taken to a Skaro "rebuilt" by Davros and the Daleks. (TV: The Magician's Apprentice)

The "destruction" of Skaro is never made clear if the planet was utterly obliterated or just heavily damaged.
