Rich Tipple (born 30 September 1986) is a colourisation artist best known for his work colourising monochrome Doctor Who footage. He was one of a team of artists responsible for the additional colour restoration on The Dæmons[1] for The Collection Season 8[2] Blu-ray, released in March 2021.
He also worked as a camera operater for Happy Birthday to Who[3] a documentary released as part of the DVD for The Three Doctors.
Trivia
Friend and author Simon Guerrier, borrowed Tipple's name for the character of Richard Tipple in The Outliers.
He is a founding member of Dr Hue, a collective of colourisation artists that colourised Day of Armageddon. It was the first full episode colourisation[4] of Doctor Who that was original shot in black and white.
He is not related to Gordon Tipple, the actor who portrayed the Master in the opening sequences of the 1996 Doctor Who TV movie.
