Geoffrey Palmer, OBE (4 June 1927-5 November 2020[1]) appeared in three Doctor Who television stories: as Edward Masters in Doctor Who and the Silurians, the Administrator in The Mutants and Hardaker in Voyage of the Damned. He was one of a handful of actors to appear both in the classic and the revived series.
Palmer was known especially for his comic roles on British television in his over fifty-year career, which include (to name but a few): Jimmy Anderson in The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin (1976-79); Ben Parkinson in Butterflies (1978-1983); and Lionel Hardcastle in As Time Goes By (1992-2002, 2005).
He was the father of director Charles Palmer and the father-in-law of Claire Skinner.
