Sector 8023 was a sector of space that lay in the Third Quadrant of the Mutter's Spiral galaxy. Earth was located in this sector. (TV: Logopolis) In the 1970s, the Institute of Space Studies, Baltimore believed that in Earth's section of the galaxy there were over 500 planets capable of supporting life. It was known as "Sector 12" to the Pleyarec, (AUDIO: Power Play) and Joxer and Hempel knew it as "Sector 14" in relation to Earth, (AUDIO: The Sword of the Chevalier) though another account put Earth in Galactic Sector 973. (PROSE: War Crimes)
