Series 2 of Class was partially planned by Patrick Ness, but ultimately became unproduced, as BBC Three never renewed the show for a second series.
According to Ness, the series' main theme would be "deals with the devil", including the resolution of how April was going to get her body back and a future version of Charlie who had lost his soul to save Matteusz.
Differently from the previous series, series 2 of Class would feature several writers, including Juno Dawson, Derek Landy, and Kim Curran.
Curran pitched about 10 ideas to Ness, out of which they were most excited by Time Capsule. Landy's story would deal with the Internet, fame and "fan entitlement". Dawson's script would focus on Tanya, with talks of her possibly being pansexual or bi.[1][2]
