Millennium Stadium

The Millennium Stadium, known in Welsh as Stadiwm y Mileniwm, was a venue in Cardiff, Wales. (TV: Out of Time) It was located south of Cardiff's Central Police Headquarters and approximate to Cardiff Castle. (PROSE: Bay of the Dead)

It was built in 1999 and replaced the old Cardiff Arms Park. Jack Harkness noted that the new stadium was built at a 90 degree angle to the old one, which aligned it with the Cardiff Rift. (PROSE: Pack Animals)

It was used for the last live performance of the rock band Unattended Article in 2000, which was hijacked by the Mondegreens. (COMIC: We Will Rock You)

Jack Harkness asked Marianne Till for directions "back to the Millennium Stadium" as a way of introducing himself. (PROSE: Slow Decay)

Rhys Williams knew someone who worked at the Stadium. Gwen Cooper suggested that she and Jack Harkness go to see the next home international, as Jack had never been to see a rugby match before. (TV: Cyberwoman)

In 2008, Torchwood Three used the stadium to house dinosaurs which had come through the Rift. (COMIC: Rift War!) Later that year, the stadium housed the MonstaQuest creatures and their creator, Gareth Portland, as he tried to use people's emotions to destroy the city. (PROSE: Pack Animals)

During a zombie outbreak in 2009, Andy Davidson bypassed both the Millennium Stadium and Cardiff Castle, as he drove Dawn Stratton and Sophie Gould up North Road to Cardiff's Central Police Headquarters. (PROSE: Bay of the Dead)

The stadium was suggested as the location for a candlelight vigil to the victims of the Refugee Crisis Centre bombing. However, it was instead moved to the ruins of the centre. (AUDIO: Changes Everything)

A refugee camp sprung up behind the stadium after the tsunami hit Cardiff. Orr lived there for a time before their powers became known. (AUDIO: A Mother's Son)
