Thanks for your edits! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is a great time to have joined us, because now you can play the Game of Rassilon with us and win cool stuff! Well, okay, badges. That have no monetary value. And that largely only you can see. But still: they're cool!
We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:
- the listing of all our help, policy and guideline pages
- our Manual of Style
- our image use policy
- our user page policy
- a list of people whose job it is to help you
If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! — you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:
Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask on my talk page. Doug86 ☎ 16:58, December 27, 2014 (UTC)
A thank youedit source
Hi! As one of the admins on this wiki, I want to thank you for your response to User:BananaClownMan's and your disagreement on the Tenth Doctor article. You handled it in the most appropriate way possible.
However, I have to tell you that his most recent edit summary for the article absolutely does not represent how we do things on this wiki. It was completely uncalled for and he has been blocked for violating Tardis:No personal attacks. Please do not let this experience keep you from editing here, as we do welcome your efforts. Thanks! Re: favoredit source
Hi! The best advice I would give to any new editor would be, one, to browse our Tardis:Tardis Manual and category:policies to get an idea of some of our basic rules; and two, browse the wiki (maybe using the random page button) to get a good look at the different kinds of articles we have.
A few of important pages to read are Tardis:Point of view, Tardis:In-universe perspective and Tardis:Out-of-universe perspective. These pages explain the difference between the two types of articles we have on the wiki.
Any other questions, feel free to ask me or any other admins. Shambala108 ☎ 04:12, March 25, 2015 (UTC)
Apologyedit source
Listen, uh, Fox King, I just wanted to apologise for the way I reacted last month. I was in the middle of a rough day, a really personal bad thing had happened and I was in a "lasing out move". In hindsight, going on to a computer in that mood wasn't my best idea. By that beside the point, listen, I just wants to say how sorry I am for overreacting, it's just that I had spent the previous 3 months updating and cleaning the Doctor pages, and then I see you and an unnamed putting up stuff that I personally didn't agree with in some real poor grammar and... this stopped sounding like an apology letter didn't it. Sorry, I'm not good at admitting when I'm wrong. I also apparently can't stop typing what I say aloud. Oh, great now that's up there too. Back to my point, I'm sorry I threatened consequences I couldn't live up too, it was wrong and I'm sorry.BananaClownMan ☎ 18:42, April 22, 2015 (UTC)
I ink it was the unnamed user who used poor grammer. But, I will advice you that when given the episode reference, they are meant to be put in airing order and closer to the example, and also remove the episode link if information directly linked to that episode is removed. Like so.
- The Tenth Doctor's main personality flaws were his sense of pride and authority. He himself stated that there was no authority higher than him. (TV: Voyage of the Damned) He deposed Prime Minister Harriet Jones, thus negating the "Golden Age" she was destined to achieve, for committing what he saw as mass murder. (TV: The Christmas Invasion) The worst incident of this arguably was when the Doctor, tormented by the screams of Adelaide Brooke's crew, decided deliberately to try to save them in disobedience to the Laws of Time, believing out of pure arrogance that he owned them and would make them obey him. At the time, he described himself as the "Time Lord Victorious" and as the "winner" of the Time War, feeling sure he could do anything. (TV: The Waters of Mars) He was also something of a hypocrite, claiming he would not allow Strackman Lux's pride to cost lives, while refusing to sign Lux's contract, (TV: Silence in the Library) and being offended when Malcolm Taylor hung up on him, despite him doing the same to Malcolm moments before. (TV: Planet of the Dead) He also tried to convince the Saxon Master to regenerate from a gunshot wound, despite his own testament of regeneration equaling death. (TV: Last of the Time Lords)

Tenth Doctoredit source
Hi! I just wanted to answer the question you asked in your edit summary at Tenth Doctor. I reverted your edits because you didn't italicize or properly cite the stories you posted in the article. You need to make sure that the stories are properly formatted; you can find out how at Tardis:Italics and Tardis:Citation. Thanks! Shambala108 ☎ 05:26, June 20, 2015 (UTC)
Re: italicizingedit source
Hi! The way to italicize a story title in source mode is to type it this way:
- The Web of Fear
That is, you put two apostrophes on either side of the brackets . It might look like a set of quotation marks, but it isn't. Also, Tardis:Citation and Tardis:Italics might be helpful. Let me know if you have more questions. Shambala108 ☎ 03:04, June 28, 2015 (UTC)
- Looks good to me. Another thing, I noticed User:BananaClownMan tried to tell you certain specifics about citations, but some of what he's saying isn't completely accurate. He says something about the order of air dates. I'm not sure what he means by that, but it's not a requirement. The main requirements for citing multiple sources are given at Thread:172032 and the pages I referenced above. Shambala108 ☎ 04:08, June 28, 2015 (UTC)
