Behind the scenes
- During the publication era of the Virgin New Adventures, there was a novella fan series published by Seventh Door which was called Doctor Who: Odyssey. Lance Parkin and Mark Clapham were contributors to this series before their work with official Doctor Who, and elements from it have appeared in their work, including the foregrounding of the term "Odyssey" here.
- The character N'Jok Barnes in AUDIO: Venus Mantrap previously appeared in Parkin's Odyssey novella Snare.
