The Siege of Saracassar was a battle fought during the Last Great Time War. The planet was of strategic interest to the warring Daleks and Time Lords due to it being a gateway to fifteen hidden galaxies. The Daleks won, with the entire population of Saracassar being wiped out. The battle was said to be so terrible those who were there lacked the words to describe how terrible it was.
As the battle raged, the War Master visited to see the sights. He encountered a woman who begged him to rescue her and her sister. He offered her a choice to come with him without her sister or stay behind. The woman agreed and later became the Scaramancer, initially seeking other survivors of Saracassar but eventually turning to piracy. (AUDIO: The Scaramancer)
