The Ugly Underneath is the story adventure of The Cybermen series focusing on the Cybermen on Mondas and the Silurians native to the planet.
Summary
Two archaeologists, Korving and Joy, study glyphs which reveal that the Cybermen and Golgoth destroyed each other two thousand years earlier. Mondas' orbit is decaying once again, and Korving believes that Golgoth's son is their last hope for survival. He threatens the Lord High Priest of C'iva, the leader of the Cult of C'iva, whom he believes has the answers he seeks. However, just then, Mondas breaks free of its orbit, and in the cataclysm Joy and the priest are killed. Dying, Korving unknowingly crawls into an old conversion unit, becoming the first of the new Cybermen.
