Detention Centre 6 was a borstal on Justice Beta, and one facility among many in the Justicia prison system. Rose Tyler was sentenced to 25 years in Detention Centre 6 after trespassing on Justice Alpha.
Detention Centre 6 was run by a Governor, and staffed by 'warders' such as Blanc and Norris. Some inmates could become 'block-walkers', unpaid warders who conducted security work in exchange for extra freedoms. The prison housed a shop, cells, solitary confinement, a laundrette, a canteen, a social hall, and officers' dorms which were staffed by robots. The prison canteen served chips, mashed potato, and congealed pasta, which inmates ate with plastic cutlery.
By 2501, a new directive from Justicia's Executive meant that male and female prisoners shared the canteen space and eventually shared cells. This was a technique used by the Blathereen to distract inmates from their gradual takeover of the facility. (PROSE: The Monsters Inside)
