Seal Island was a fishing town in Scotland.
The Selkie took up residence in the town after being saved by Captain Jack Harkness. In the early 21st century, the Selkie began murdering and skinning male residents of Seal Island whom she deemed had damaged the Island's women or robbed the place of its ancient treasures. Among its initial victims were Eaden Shaw, Tom Nesbit and Ross Duncan, the latter's death being the one that Jack Harkness first began investigating after being enlisted by Torchwood Glasgow.
