Kelly was a young woman who worked in Sanderson & Grainger, a department store secretly being used by Cybermen. When the Eleventh Doctor came to work there to investigate, Kelly, along with the other employees, became quite fond of him. She was briefly put off by Craig Owens questioning of her, which she misinterpreted as some inappropriate form of flirting. She was put at ease by the Doctor. After the Cybermen were defeated on 20 April 2011, the Doctor told her that the explosion of their ship was contained and the store would be fine, which confused her.
