Food planets were planets created with the purpose of providing food.
The Nestene Consciousness controlled the Plastic Conjunction - seventeen Protein planets which farmed smoke and oil - until they were destroyed in the Last Great Time War, the food planets being smashed by many duplicates of Skaro. (PROSE: Revenge of the Nestene)
