Liyi Chen was an archaeologist who worked with Bernice Summerfield. She theorised where the central chamber of the building they uncovered was. She realised that The Valeyard kept sending her out first. She spoke Manadarin. She thought this was a religious site, but Chorus told it he didn't. Her arm was injured but was healed by the water Chorus collected. She managed to work out a communication array to talk to the creature that created the holes. The Caragot integrated her.
