Unbeknownst to Benny she is already pregnant with [[Jason Kane]]'s child at this point and she later speculates on the potential impact Lwpha could have had on her unborn child. In the following story ''[[The Loyal Left Hand (short story)|The Loyal Left Hand]]'' Bernice suffers a miscarriage, however, unlike miscarriages there is no mention of blood or bleeding and instead the story focuses on the "wetness". Behind the scenes
The name Lwpha was a play on a loofah sponge.
In All Mimsy Were the Borogoves Bernice allows Lwpha to enter her bloodstream in order to bypass the Draconian security systems and escape to the Collection. Unbeknownst to Benny she is already pregnant with Jason Kane's child at this point and she later speculates on the potential impact Lwpha could have had on her unborn child. In the following story The Loyal Left Hand Bernice suffers a miscarriage, however, unlike miscarriages there is no mention of blood or bleeding and instead the story focuses on the "wetness".
