Albert Tiermann was a 19th century Prussian storyteller.
Tiermann made a deal with the Ice Queen (in reality an unnamed demon). She put an ice shard in his heart so he would not be distracted by emotions, thus able to focus on creating stories for his king. The Fourth Doctor met him in the Murgin Pass in 1847.
Albert's father was named Ernest. (AUDIO: A Shard of Ice) The Tenth Doctor encountered a man named Ernest Tiermann in the 59th century. (PROSE: Sick Building)
