Bane was an organic ingredient found in the Bubble Shock! soft drink. It resisted analysis, as if it was alive and knew it was being scanned. In reality, it was an enzyme secreted by the Bane Mother, which had addictive properties. The Mother could then telepathically control Bane drinkers. However, while Bane affected 98% of the human population, 2% had an immunity. The Bane created the Archetype in order to find out why 2% had the biological resistance. (TV: Invasion of the Bane)
Among the 2% were Maria Jackson, Chrissie Jackson, (TV: Invasion of the Bane) and Rani Chandra. (TV: Enemy of the Bane)
