Detective robots were small androids used as the law enforcement agents of Sunset Strip. They were immensely durable due to their hollow body casing which, being made of duralinium, doubled as secure containers. They were the product of Acme Industries, New Brentford, Earth. Detective robots were often in the pay of the criminal gang bosses and used as minders/protective agents.
