Pip

Pip was the protagonist and narrator in Charles Dickens' Great Expectations.

Originally an orphan, the book followed Pip's journey as he developed into a gentleman. This development occurred through a series of events, including an encounter with an escaped convict on the Kent marshes, a summons to meet Miss Havisham and her ward Estella, and the generosity of a mysterious benefactor.

Clyde Langer described his journey as "some bloke gets mucked around by women". (TV: The Empty Planet)
