Fulton Mackay (12 August 1922-6 June 1987[1]) played Dr John Quinn in the Doctor Who television story Doctor Who and the Silurians.

He is best remembered as the stiff, no nonsense prison warden Mr Mackay on the sitcom Porridge (1974-77), as well as its 1979 big screen version and the spin-off Going Straight (1978).
Mackay also played Det. Chief. Supt. Inman for eighteen episodes from 1969 to 1970 on Special Branch (1969-1974), and the Captain in the first two seasons of the UK version of Fraggle Rock (1984-87).
