Jabel was the captain of the Tesh. He confirmed to the Fourth Doctor that the Tesh were an experiment in eugenics, and told the Doctor where to find Xoanon in the Sacred Heart on the Mordee expedition's ship. When the Doctor threatened Jabel to stop the Sevateem Leela from being subject to particle analysis, Jabel believed that the Doctor was not the "Lord of Time" come again to save the Tesh as he initially thought, and used his kinetic powers to have the Doctor incapacitated and taken to the particle analyser as well. He later fought the Sevateem inside the ship. After the two tribes were united, he argued with Calib over who would lead them. (TV: The Face of Evil)
