Rumours
- It is rumoured that the Skarkish will appear.
- The 'Dream Lord' is rumoured to pretend to be the Doctor because of a shot of him inside the TARDIS wearing the Eleventh Doctor's costume in the trailer.
- Because of Simon Nye's involvement, this may be a comedic episode in the same vein as The Unicorn and the Wasp.
- When teasing the new series, Steven Moffat mentioned a character he called 'The Dream Lord,' this character makes an appearance as the main villain of this episode, as the episode deals with a strange dream.
- Others theorise that the 'Dream Lord' might be The Trickster, once more attempting to cause chaos by manipulating events.
- It is likely that this shall serve as the Series' Doctor-lite episode similar to Turn Left in the 2008 episode, to mirror the Companion-lite eleventh episode
- Aunt Sharon will appear.
- Blue Peter did a competition earlier in the year to design-a-TARDIS console. This episode could be where the designed console room is used, as it was "apparently" to be used in "some shape or form"
