A space station used for scientific research was shaped like a helix and had transparent walls allowing people to see thousands of stars. It was staffed by several scientists, including several of galaxy-class and, in a junior role, Dr Martin Chesleworth.
Professor Artemis Vane arrived on the station through an incision in the space-time continuum and was followed by crab-like creatures which fed on those aboard. The Sixth Doctor and Charlotte Pollard helped get rid of them before taking Artemis back to her own time. (AUDIO: These Stolen Hours)
