Facts included[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • Torchwood Convention: The Hub 4 is a 3-day event held on 9th-11th April 2010 at the Park Inn Hotel Northampton.
  • The magazine's readers voted for composer Ben Foster for the Special Recognition Award for his work on Children of Earth.
  • Mickey Smith and Martha Jones, last seen in Doctor Who leaving the TARDIS with Captain Jack Harkness, were intended in early storylines for Children of Earth but prior commitments from the actors made this impossible.
  • All episodes of Children of Earth received ratings exceeding 6 million on their first broadcast on BBC One with additional viewers from BBC HD and BBC3 repeats.
  • Noel Clarke, best known for playing Mickey Smith in Doctor Who, also wrote Series One's Combat.
  • In the episode Combat the internet search engine, Search-wise.net, first seen in Doctor Who's comeback episode Rose, made a reappearance.

Additional details[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • Torchwood: The Official Magazine from Titan Magazines continued to be bi-monthly title with now only six issues a year. Each issue featured 100 pages and cost £4.99 (UK), offering a 15% saving to subscribers.
  • Aimed at mature fans of the series, the magazines did not shy away from discussions involving sex and violence, topics integral to the success of this "adult" spin-off series from the BBC's more family friendly Doctor Who.
