Carol Richmond was a crewmember on Captain Maitland's ship. She and John were engaged to be married.

Biography

Carol, John and Captain Maitland were held prisoner on their ship by the Sensorites. Once the First Doctor and his companions arrived and negotiated with the Sensorites, she and John were brought to the Sense Sphere so the Sensorite scientists could cure John.

Carol inadvertently gave the City Administrator the idea of kidnapping the Second Elder and impersonating him, after she mistook the Administrator for the Sensorite scientist who was treating John; and mentioned how it was difficult to see who was who when the Sensorites' backs were turned.

After the Administrator was exposed and banished, she was allowed to return to Earth. (TV: The Sensorites)

Appearance

Carol had fair hair and, even in her comatose state, had a prim beauty about her. She was only a few years older than Susan Foreman. (PROSE: The Sensorites)
