The eighth issue of the Doctor Who DVD Files - "The Ultimate Build-up Doctor Who Encyclopaedia" had a cover date of 22 April 2009.

Collectable loose leaf pages divided into seven categories that could be filed accordingly.

- Each issue came with a DVD release covering two episodes.
- Reversible DVD sleeves enabled the collector to display one of two designs featuring either the Doctor and his enemies or his companions.
- "Ooh, sweet Lord! I'm a walking doodle!"
- The TARDIS takes a trip to galaxy M87 and the planet New Earth after an old friend sends a message to the Doctor's psychic paper. While there, they discover cat nuns are doing hideous experiments in a huge hospital and fall foul of an old adversary out for revenge!
