Edwin Garrett was a human of the 19th century.
In 1827 Edwin Garrett was in the Amazon rainforest. He led an expedition that hunted animals opening of the London Zoo in 1828.
The Nadurni stole his jaguar to create a mutated warrior animal, that they could use for their war against the Prokarian. They also used their gene manipulator on humans which they kidnapped from the village.
When the kidnapped humans were saved and returned to the village Edwin Garrett was desintressed in this. When Garrett told the Doctor that the captured animals would also be sold to private collectiors and scientists and not only the London Zoo the Doctor used his screwdriver to open all the cages of the animals to let them escape.
