Guglielmo Marconi

Mr Marconi was an inventor who worked on transmissions and the telegraph in the 19th century. He placed a wireless in Flat Holm lighthouse for Florence Driscoll and Owain Pryce to use, testing to see if wireless transmissions could be sent as far as Glamorgan. (AUDIO: Save Our Souls)

Marconi got the patent for radio. According to the Thirteenth Doctor, before he did so they had to take it away from Nikola Tesla, who invented the radio first. (TV: Nikola Tesla's Night of Terror)

While talking to the Brigadier, Jo Grant compared Clifford Jones to "impossible dreamer[s]" like "Jesus of Nazareth, Christopher Columbus, and Marconi." (PROSE: Doctor Who and the Green Death)

The Fang Rock lighthouse used a Marconi Wireless Telegraph. (TV: Horror of Fang Rock)

A Professor imploring two other scientists who were experimenting with time travel to be less reckless, lest they alter the course of history, once used the example that the iron ball they sent back in time as an experiment could have struck down Marconi before he made his discoveries, altering the history of science. (COMIC: Dr. Who's Time Tales)
