Paul McGann was an actor who played the Doctor in Doctor Who. His first story involved a car chase and kissing, which fans weren't happy with. By 2000, McGann starred in the serial Doctor Who and the Burning. In July of that year, he resumed his role for Father Time. On the location shoot for a car chase scene (with Minnie Driver) in Buxton, Derbyshire, he spoke to a person. McGann's costume for that scene was described by a costume designer as a "New Romantic Look", reminiscent of Vivienne Westwood, albeit without eyeshadow and warpaint.
