Spindroids resembled mechanical spheres with a buzzsaw ring around them. They were made of Promethium and were not impervious to Dalek firepower. However, their inbuilt blasters and cutting devices made them more than a match for the Daleks.
History[[edit] | [edit source]]
Spindroids were used to mine the planet JT227, for Promethium 62 and to guard it from space in satellites that ringed the planet. Humanity's discovery of Promethium 62 meant that the Daleks were at last retreating from human space. Promethium 62 could be used to break Dalek forcefields, forcing the Daleks out of star system after star system. However, the Daleks found the source of the element, JT227. The Daleks arrived and appeared from hyperspace inside every one of the two hundred satellites orbiting JT227. Alerted, the Spindroids went on full alert and fought the Daleks faster and harder the humans ever could. The Daleks only managed to breach a few of the satellites. Although the Promethium-hardened casings of the Spindroids couldn't withstand Dalek firepower well, they were soon able to destroy the Daleks with their own blasters and deadly blades. The disastrous defeat caused the Daleks to vanish from the human front. (PROSE: The Match of the Daleks)
