The Shimabara Rebellion was an uprising of mainly Christian peasants in Japan in the 1630s. The rebellion ended with a siege at Hara Castle, after which the 30,000 rebels and their families within the castle were all executed. (AUDIO: The Barbarians and the Samurai)
