Westbury Design and Optical was a visual effects firm run by visual effects designer Clifford Culley who constructed seven new Dalek casings for use in Planet of the Daleks. These new casings were disliked by director David Maloney due to them being constructed from wood rather than fibreglass and, as such, these so-called "goon" Daleks were kept in the background throughout the story as much as possible.
The firm was also initially hired to construct the dinosaur models for Invasion of the Dinosaurs after the BBC Visual Effects Department determined that its resources were insufficient to build the dinosaurs required, but when the task of building the models proved to be beyond Culley's abilities, the work was ultimately subcontracted to Rodney Fuller.
