Tara was employed as an assistant to an eccentric freelance gentleman adventurer working for the Ministry, which Jo thought of as a job similar to her own, though she looked down on Tara's intelligence work as "swanning about in vintage cars, doing judo and wearing a selection of not-very-convincing wigs."
