Well, Revan, I think you started this discussion on a false foundation. This wiki does ''not'' see ''all'' spin-off material as equally valid. It matters very much what kinda legal license underlies the story as to how we treat it. As I've said many times before, Larry Miles never had a legal right to explore the Doctor Who universe in any way, shape or form. The War King is . . . the War King. Period. He's ''not'' the Master. You can't make a link through a charity publication. The only version of ''[[Toy Story]]'' that this wiki can consider is the one in ''[[Dead Romance]]''. The ''Perfect Timing 2'' version, which is the only one that actually uses the term "the Master", doesn't count. {{user:CzechOut/Sig}}{{User:CzechOut/TimeFormat}}'''05:11:19 Mon '''13 Jun 2011 </span> |

I am about to create the War King page of the Faction paradox series incarnation of the master and was wondering whether it would be counted as a normal incarnarion of the master or a non-canonical one. i know this wikia sees all spinoff media as canon but it is best to be sure.
i shall create the page and await a verdict on what category to add to itRevanvolatrelundar 15:55, August 24, 2010 (UTC)
- The Faction Paradox series is an odd beast, like other non-BBC licensed stuff it rides a fine line of saying stuff directly.
- I've had a look at the page you've created, I don't see any issues with it.
- My only question is should it be just titled 'War King', with 'The Master' in the alias box, the text of the article can state it's the Master, but is it actually stated in The Book of the War as being the Master? (I don't have my copy on hand at the moment). --Tangerineduel 16:19, August 24, 2010 (UTC)
- it is heavily implied that the Master is the war king in the book of the war (with what he says and does), but what confirms it is the Toy Story which says that lolita is the Master's TARDIS and that her previous owner is now the leader of Gallifrey Revanvolatrelundar 16:47, August 24, 2010 (UTC)
- ive just been reading the Ancestor Cell again and been looking up things in the book of the War and this Master definatly does get completely erased from history. shouldn't we put him in an "alternative/parralel incarnations of the Master" category? I have created Category:Alternate_Incarnations_of_the_Master to list this and other master who are canon, but have been erased from history or are from an alternate timeline Revanvolatrelundar 14:01, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
- That's debatable.
- The timeline did/does exist, its affects were felt on the timeline.
- I think this may be one of the instances of contradictory evidence. I seem to recall in Dead Romance the Time Lords escape into the bottle-universe, but in The Ancestor Cell the Time Lords have the bottle universe hidden within the vortex. In Interference it's implied the Time Lords steal the bottle drom IM Foreman.
- I'm going to chuck a delete on the category (the I should be lower case), also unless it's got more than 3 articles within it doesn't really fit as a category. (And off the top of my head I can't think of any alt-universe Masters that are within canon, the Unbound Master doesn't count within canon). --Tangerineduel 14:23, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
- i can get the other Koschei in there and the infinity doctor's master. that makes 3 Revanvolatrelundar 14:26, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
- Alrighty, just make the category with a lower case I. --Tangerineduel 14:33, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
- Alrighty, just make the category with a lower case I. --Tangerineduel 14:33, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
ok, i saw the mistake when i made it anyway, now ill just hop to it and make those articles! Revanvolatrelundar 14:36, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
- There is something of an issue I was looking at the categories that the other Master related articles sit in.
- The other Koschei is from a Parallel Earth, the War King is an alternate regeneration (probably) and we're not really sure about The Infinity Doctors, the Magistrate and everything in that novel is never really stated to be not of this universe.
- That actually knocks the presence in the category back to one, the other Koschei goes into Category:Parallel Earth (Inferno) individuals, the War King Category:Alternative timelines and The Magistrate would go into just Category:The Master.
- The disctinction is that the Parallel Earth existed co-currently with this Earth while the distinction you've made about the War King being from an alternate timeline means that, it's a alternative rather than something parallel. --Tangerineduel 14:44, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
- yeah i see what you mean, i proposed the alternate category just to create something definate for the War King to fit into, Category:Alternative timelines is perfect for that. i dont think the infinity doctors master needs deleting though, there is oen for the doctor from that story. Revanvolatrelundar 14:58, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
- That's because the Doctor is named as such, the Magistrate, as that's how he's named is how he's named in the story, you can move the Master (The Infinity Doctors) to the Magistrate, but I don't believe he's actually called 'the Master' at any time throughout it. (Much like the War King in that respect). --Tangerineduel 15:01, August 27, 2010 (UTC)

- deletion banner still needs removing though Revanvolatrelundar 15:03, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
