Pelachan was a planet with the same gravity and atmosphere as Earth, and home to four-winged nightingales. It was the site where the time ship U.N.S. Pelican crashed in the distant past, the ship's name becoming corrupted over time, eventually giving the planet it's name.

The population eventually developed steam-level technology by 1871 "AC," presumably for "after-crash," which was "billions of years before Earth's time." By then Pelachan had steam cars and leeches were used in infirmaries.

Evelyn Smythe was accidentally transported there by a temporal stabiliser that she discovered in a coal seam on Világ, spending five years on the planet. (AUDIO: A Death in the Family)
