Britsure was an insurance firm | Britsure was an insurance firm advertised in Cardiff in the 21st century. A poster for it was witnessed by Torchwood personnel through a distortion in space-time at St Teilo's Military Hospital in 1918, allowing the Torchwood staff of the 2000's to identify the day, time, and location at which Tommy Brockless had to be delivered in order to close the distortion. In 1918, a rift in time opened in a storage room of St Teilo's Military Hospital. Torchwood Institute agents Gerald Kneale and Harriet Derbyshire witnessed Toshiko Sato and Tommy Brockless on the other side of the rift, speaking from the 2000's. Tommy explained to the Torchwood agents that the two must fetch his past self - who in their time resided in the hospital - and find a way to get him to the future alive so that he can speak to them from the 21st century in the first place.
In the 2000's, Torchwood Three were tasked with taking Tommy Brockless to the exact location where he was seen through the rift to tell Kneale and Derbyshire where to find his 1918 self. Gwen Cooper and Owen Harper were able to identify the correct storage room from Kneale and Derbyshire's notes in the "Eyes Only Document, FAO Torchwood, commander overseeing case 1918/TB" document. The note describing "a woman in strange armour, ripping a Union Jack, perhaps some future heroine of the Empire" turned out to be a large advertising poster for Britsure, an insurance company, which was visible through a hole in the wall of the dilapidated hospital.
