The Woodlice monsters encountered by the Eleventh Doctor and Clara Oswald in a family's garden on Earth were non hostile. They were winged, highly evolved and civilised, and nested in the tops of Time Trees. The Time Trees grew upwards in time as well as space; the higher one climbed, the further into the future one travelled. (COMIC: A Long Way Down)
