Station 7 was a secret Earth facility during a war with the Daleks. It was protected by a complement of fighters.
It held Dalek-related artefacts recovered by humanity during the war, where they would await research to help the humans understand Dalek technology and develop ways of fighitng back against them. By the time the Eleventh Doctor and Amy had arrived, the station's scientists had already found the technology to be worthless since only the Daleks could use it. The station was guarded by agents of the Space Security Service. Station 7 was originally an ore station; freight pods were sent to and from the planet below and were emptied and dropped back again. Ultimately, the station was repurposed for the war effort against the Daleks. (COMIC: The Only Good Dalek)
