A freighter and space station in Sector 16. (TV: Earthshock)

Space freighters were spacecraft used to carry goods between planets.

Humans first developed space freighters some time in the late 20th century. One of these was the experimental XK-5 space freighter, launched from Devesham and piloted by Senior Astronaut Guy Crayford. (TV: The Android Invasion)

Adric died on board Briggs' freighter when it crashed into the Earth — an event which resulted in the extinction of the dinosaurs. At this point, space freighters were powered by antimatter. (TV: Earthshock)

A space freighter was hijacked by Batmen in early 2065, who put the crew into a kind of "frozen sleep" and kept the freighter on an asteroid while under the leadership of a human pretending to have become a Batman. After he was found out as a fake, the crew were unfrozen, and flew away. (COMIC: The Batmen)

Space freighters were still used in 2,000,000. Sabalom Glitz delivered Kane a freighter of rotten, deep frozen fruit. (TV: Dragonfire)
