Hot Buns was a butty van that was always parked by the Wrexham bypass in the 1980s. It was run by a gay couple, and Rhys Williams's uncle Mike and "the lads" did not let them come to harm. Rhys and Mike would drive an hour-long detour to go to Hot Buns for the bacon baps, and chips with curry sauce.

Jack Harkness was aware of the van and directed Rhys and Gwen Cooper to the Torchwood cache in the slag heap nearby by mentioning it. (AUDIO: Forgotten Lives)
